STEP 1: Meet The Criteria

So you are ready to be a part of Scouts BSA Troop 373? Before you can start earning badges and going on exciting trips, you must meet the following requirements:

You must have completed the fifth grade and be at least 10 years old.

OR

You must have earned the Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts and be at least 10 years old.

OR

You must be at least 11 years old but have not reached age 18.

STEP 2: Complete The BSA Registration Form

As with all things, nothing is complete until the paperwork is done. Parents are required to complete an official youth application for their child. We also ask that interested parents complete an official adult application just in case they want to go on a specific campout with their scout, are asked to drive scouts to an event, or would like to teach a merit badge class.

Troop leaders have copies of the official BSA applications for you to complete. If you would rather complete them at home, the following images are links to the online forms. Please turn the application in to any troop leader.

STEP 3: Complete The Troop Registration Form

There is some additional information that the troop needs to better communicate with parents and scouts. The troop registration form collects information like email addresses, additional phone numbers, and other pertinent information. You can either complete the paper form or fill in the information online once you have a login for the troop website.

STEP 4: Submit Registration Fee

Registration fee for youth members is currently $180. This fee covers the national registration fee, council program fees, and insurance. A subscription to Scout Life Magazine is an additional $15. Adult registration fee is $100. Checks can be made payable to "Troop 373". Submit the registration fee to any troop leader. Scouterships are available to offset the cost of registration if needed.

STEP 5: Have Fun!

That's the basic Scouts BSA registration process. You are now ready to enjoy our exciting program! We look forward to seeing you at our weekly meetings and monthly outings.

Details

There are additional registration requirements for adults such as taking a youth protection training course, background checks, and fingerprinting. If adults will be teaching merit badges or participating in committee meetings, there is additional training that needs to be taken. Also, for those scouts and parents who will be going overnight camping, it would be a good idea to complete health history forms as well.

All of these additional forms, instructions, and links to training sites are located on our Youth & Adult Registration page.
